Sura Eats Story

Sura Eats began long before the first bottle of sauce was made. It started with Chef Keeyoung Kim cooking for friends, remembering the flavors he grew up with, and finding comfort in simple home dishes. What started as a small pop-up quickly grew into a community favorite in Kansas City, where guests returned again and again for food that felt both familiar and new.

Over time, people kept asking the same question: “How do I make this at home?” The answer became the foundation of Sura Eats sauces.

Every bottle is built from the recipes Keeyoung learned from family, refined through years of cooking, and tested in real home kitchens so anyone can cook with confidence. Sura Eats is here to make Korean flavors easy, honest, and accessible—no shortcuts, no overthinking, always rooted in the food that brought him here.

Keeyoung KIM

Chef Keeyoung Kim is the founder of Sura Eats and the creative force behind its bold, approachable flavors. Before the first bottle of sauce was ever made, Keeyoung built his career in restaurants and other hospitality spaces while finding comfort in the simple dishes he grew up eating at home. From cooking for friends, co-workers and family to early Sura Eats pop-ups in Kansas City, his food has always been grounded in memory, technique, and heart.

As the Sura Eats restaurant grew, so did the demand from guests who wanted to recreate those flavors in their own kitchens. That demand became the spark for Sura Eats sauces. Today, Keeyoung continues to develop recipes that are versatile, reliable, and rooted in the Korean flavors that shaped him. His goal is to make cooking easier and more meaningful for anyone who wants to explore good food—whether they’re seasoned cooks or just beginning.

WHY SAUCES

For years, guests told us the same thing every time they ate our food: “I wish I could make this at home.” That became the reason Sura Eats sauces exist. Each bottle captures the flavors Keeyoung grew up with and refined through years in professional kitchens, but made simple enough for any home cook to use.
